Caledonia County Fair

December 29, 2009
Caledonia County Fair (CCF) wishes you a Happy New Year and wants to give you an update on our Pulling Arena which is nearing completion. The roof is completed with only the tie downs and a small gable end to be finished, this work should be completed in the near future. There is still inside work to be done including the judges stand, bleachers and servicing the area with electricity; this is scheduled for spring. The support of many in time and services have helped in keeping the cost down but as in many projects, cost over-runs are present. Actual cash costs to date total $95,000 with an additional anticipated expense in excess of $30,000; to date the income for this project is $86,000 with a small anticipated balance to be received. It appears that an additional $35,000 needs to be raised. The CCF Board is planning fund raisers to help reduce the deficit but this is also a plea to the pullers in pony, ox and horse pulling to help in completing this project. The offer is still open to sponsor a sign for $1,000 or to sponsor a larger sign for $2,000; both signs will be made and maintained by the CCF Board. If you have contributed before but can increase your sponsorship, that would be great! If you have not supported this project in the past but are able to now, that will help bring this project to a successful completion. Any monetary donation, regardless of the amount would be greatly appreciated! If you are unable to financially support the project at this time, but have an idea on how to close the $35,000 gap, please share that idea with us, the CCF Directors are eager to work to an immediate closure of this mammoth project. CCF is a 501c3 organization which means that any donation is tax deductible. Thank you for your support and interest in completing this facility for the 2010 Fair Season!
Sincerely,
Dick Lawrence
